Producer / Director / Cinematographer / Editor: Luke Renner

The following short video was filmed and edited to show North American donors a more positive angle of what Haiti can look like while raising awareness for a Beyond Borders Florida educational project. Apart from the details of this specific promotional pitch, please consider this piece on its emotional and visual merits.

THE PITCH:
Consider the possibility of generating a 13-episode television program that travels around Haiti exploring all of the beauty (cultural, natural, historical, human, etc). This program would be hosted by a regular set of young and energetic Haitian "personalities" (one male - one female - yet to be named). Hosts should speak in Creole and have a general artistic and social sensibility.

THE GOAL:
The purpose of such a program would be to support a sense of national pride by connecting with both the population of Haiti as well as with the diaspora. In an effort to attract tourism once more, Haitians must once again begin to believe that Haiti is in fact "too rich to be poor." This television program explicitly supports that directive in a compelling and vivid way.

The Caribbean Institute of Media Technologies - Promotional Trailer

Contributor: Luke Renner

Writer / Producer / Director / Cinematographer / Editor: Luke Renner

Synopsis: This short promotional trailer is currently being used to promote The Caribbean Institute of Media Technologies.

Apart from the specific promotional purpose of this piece, consider the benefit of involving talented and qualified people who already see Haiti for the beauty that it possesses. Through strategic partnerships with proven professionals and committed champions of Haiti's NGO community (in this case: John Engle of Beyond Borders Florida & Luke Renner of Fireside International), the need to assemble a highly qualified and connected team of socially conscious and highly creative professionals is already met. In other words, to quote Phillipe Armand, "There is no need to re-invent the wheel." At this very moment, the highest-caliber of professional administrators, facilitators, and creators is already assembled and ready to begin pre-production of this strategic public relations campaign.

This leaves only the task of defining the projects and executing the directives.
